It's all very appealing for hunting trips, but for casual combat most notably Slayer, the sword is not as impressive as you imagine. It's twice as quick and hits twice as frequently, but the sword hits more frequently and is harder. It is not the melee Dark Bow version. But it isn't equipped with the Black Mask, a super attack potion, or the Black Mask to OSRS gold compensate for the slow speed, I'd suggest another option. The size of the monster could also play a role (Black Demons is a good example, Godsword works well there).
