Kyogo Furuhashi and Albian Ajeti both hurt their hamstrings as Celtic finished their Europa League campaign with a 3-2 win over Real Betis, but they still won the Europa League.

He may not have any fit strikers ahead of a busy schedule that includes the Premier Sports Cup final against Hibernian a week from today.

Celtic were already in the Europa Conference League behind second-placed Betis, but a much-changed team won at Parkhead to boost morale.

Celtic went ahead after just three minutes thanks to a goal from Stephen Welsh. Substitutes Ewan Henderson and David Turnbull twice came off the bench to make it 2-2.

To rest players and give others a chance to play, Postecoglou changed his entire team for Celtic's nine games in December. He made nine changes after Betis beat Barcelona on Saturday.

Osaze Urhoghide and Liam Shaw made their debuts, and Liam Scales made his first start for the first time.

However, in the 28th minute, Postecoglou made the decision to bring on Furuhashi when Ajeti had to leave the field because he had blocked the goalkeeper's clearance. Celtic made a bad choice when the Japan forward hurt his hamstring after sliding in for a tackle, which was bad for them.

A minor knee surgery could leave Postecoglou without a known striker when he played Motherwell on Sunday. Jota and James Forrest, two important wingers, were also out with injuries.

Celtic got off to the best possible start when Welsh headed Liel Abada's corner just inside the far post.

For the rest of the first half, Betis did most of the attacking. Urhoghide came back to make a big difference after some sloppy marking. Scott Bain was able to save a few shots.

Betis then tried to attack from a long way away several times. During the first-half, Paul Akouokou hit the bar.

Celtic took the lead more often after the break, but Bain made a good save from Cristian Tello. On the right, Urhoghide made some dangerous low crosses, and Nir Bitton had a shot saved.

Borja Iglesias scored for the visitors in the 69th minute when Mikey Johnston was a little slow. Joaquin was able to cross for him. Bain did a good job getting down to save the striker's shot, but his luck ran out when the ball ricocheted off his leg and into the goal.

Henderson scored his first goal for Celtic in the 72nd minute, about 60 seconds after replacing Furuhashi. He got around his defender to score from close range after Johnston played well on the wing.

The latter made things worse when he gave up the ball just before Iglesias was set up to score the second goal for the Spaniards in the 75th minute.

When Abada went on the run, Johnston helped set him up. Then, the winger was brought down right outside the box. Turnbull sent the goalkeeper in the wrong direction after the spot-kick decision was upheld, so the goalie had to make a mistake.

They feared that Urhoghide and Bitton were going to get hurt again, but both of them kept playing and didn't get hurt at all.

After Juanmi headed against the bar from three yards at the other end, Johnston had a goal disallowed because of an offside against Abada. During 10 minutes of stoppage time, he missed a great chance to go on the counterattack.
