It has been announced that an update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been released, allowing players to decorate their islands in preparation for the upcoming Halloween celebration. Pumpkins are now available as a consumable item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and they can be used to construct or develop other projects, just like other materials in the game.

AC: New Horizons will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020, and the Halloween patch has seen many community members adopt a spooky new island aesthetic, similar to previous holidays or social trends that have occurred since the release of the game on the Nintendo Switch. Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has shut down most — and at times all — non-virtual social interactions, the social aspect of Animal Crossing has become one of the most talked-about topics in gaming this year.

New Horizons now has pumpkins, and the most recent Animal Crossing patch adds new eye colors, new Halloween costumes at Able Sisters, and an illustrated guide to make your own Halloween decorations if you're having trouble figuring out where to begin. In-game events will also be taking place on Halloween, including a costume contest.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf has received a new patch that includes Halloween-related updates. New Horizons was also accompanied by a number of quality of life improvements, the most notable of which was the addition of the ability to hide items that were not for sale from the catalog when using Nook Shopping, allowing players to streamline their browsing experience.

Almost from the beginning of the game's existence in 2001, the social aspect of customizing one's own experience and then sharing, comparing, and experiencing other people's interpretations of the same gaming experience has been a central theme. As social media technology has progressed at an exponential rate over the past decade, it has only made it more convenient and streamlined for people to communicate with one another.

In particular, the Halloween update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf:New Horizons comes at a time when traditional social interactions are being hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, and it provides a much-needed virtual avenue for those who wish to participate in the festivities.

For the year 2021, there will be new Halloween spookiness.

  1. So far, the Summer 2021 Animal Crossing: New Horizons update has revealed three new Halloween-themed items in the Spooky Set, which we're calling the Spooky Set

  2. The Spooky Treats Basket, the Spooky Tree, and the Spooky Trick Lamp are examples of this

  3. Check out the images above and below, which were taken by us and show off all three of the new items:Additionally, the new items appear to be able to be customized into different color variations, similar to previous Spooky items

How To Acquire Them

During the month of October 2021, you can easily find all three of the new Spooky items for sale inside Nook's Cranny in the seasonal slot, which is easily accessible! Due to the fact that there is no time lock associated with these items, anyone interested in checking them out or purchasing one is free to do so at any point in time. As with last year's Halloween event, you can also obtain DIY crafting recipes for these new Spooky items from villagers, allowing bells animal crossing to create them instead of purchasing them if Animal Crossing New Horizons Items so desire.

Why Have These Been Made Public Now?

With absolutely no mention of Halloween in the update announcement, we speculated that Nintendo may have accidentally included Halloween content intended for a future update in this month's July Update instead of a future update by mistake.

However, after further investigation, it appears that this update also includes a number of seasonal Nook Shopping events that were not previously announced by Nintendo but have since been discovered. Some of these events take place quite late in the year, towards the end of November, for example.

Simply put, it's impossible that such a large amount of content could have been accidentally included, so for some strange reason, the company's marketing team must have decided that it would be best if the announcement for October content was held off until later.

We believe that despite the fact that these items are already in the game, there will be some sort of second 'announcement' around late September that will'reveal' them to the public. While this appears to be a strange strategy that differs from the past, in which there would have simply been an actual update in late September, this appears to be the case here!
