These two things, combined together, create an apparently vertical cliff that must be climbed from the beginning, from the start.

No matter where, no matter how, at least something in this direction! It doesn't matter what programming language or engine or framework you choose to start with. Just start doing something. Don't sit around and just read how to make a game. That's the most important thing!
