"Sometimes it's frustrating because it creates [false expectations]. It was what happened when we announced Tropical Freeze D2R Ladder Items. Everyone was like 'they're working on some kind of Zelda game, they're working on something like a Zelda game', but like nope. And we announced Tropical Freeze and it looks amazing and gorgeous and people then go "Oh, it's not a Donkey Kong.'

You then realize that everyone is slamming on it on Neogaf or some other site and you're thinking 'oh, it's because everyone thought we were doing an Zelda game and it's like there's no way that's what we do.' So , it's both humorous at times. it, but sometimes it becomes frustrating when it kind of continues for a longer," said Kozlowsky.

Kozlowsky's comments are an interesting insight into the way rumors are spread, and how that can negatively impact a game's reception. Although Tropical Freeze might not have been the game that people were hoping to be able to play however, it was greeted with a lot of critical reviews upon its launch. It's not easy to put hard work into something, but then the internet to be disappointed based on false rumors. It's hard to predict how fans will react to a game's announcement, but it's a good thing that the situation has helped some fans understand the importance of keeping their expectations in check!
