This article discusses members' methods for training the Mining ability. For non-member methods of learning Mining, check out Free-to-play mining training.

This guide will help you choose the most efficient pay-to-play strategies to help you master your Mining ability. The estimates of experience rate included in the guide presume that the finest pickaxe available is being used to achieve the level of Mining specified and don't include the usage of any experience-boosting items or bonus experience. It also assumes that players do not deposit the ores they collect. The banking of ores reduces the amount of experience that players get per hour and since the majority of ores are not very valuable it is generally unworthy of the amount taken to train in Mining. In this mode Evolution of Combat mode can drop ores by adding the ore to their action bar, and then pressing the keybind that is associated in order to release the ore. Contrary to dropping items straight from the inventory by using the right-click drop function dropping items using the action bar doesn't hinder mining.

Mining is a gathering technique that typically involves the collection of ore from different kinds of ore rocks. Ore rocks are usually discovered in groups on mining sites. Players can also occasionally obtain uncut sapphiresand emeralds as well as diamonds and rubies while mining. A pickaxe is required when mining. The ability to increase the level of Mining will increase the speed at which players gain more resources and gain experience when mining. As players level up they also have the ability to utilize better pickaxes. To get the most experience rates possible it is highly recommended to utilize the best pickaxes available.

 Pickaxes

In addition to the Mining level requirements, pickaxes also require certain levels of Attack to be wielded. However players can use a pickaxe even without equipping it, as pickaxes kept in the inventory or the tool belt are automatically utilized when mining. After a pickaxe has been added to the tool belt, it can't be taken out, but players can add a pickaxe of a higher level to their tool belt if the one currently stored in the tool belt is less than the one that is being added. Players can add pickaxes which aren't currently equipped with an appropriate Mining level for their tool belt. If the pickaxe contained in the tool belt of a player requires a higher Mining level to use than the player is currently using, the pickedaxe will function as the best available tool at the player's current Mining level.

 Augmented pickaxes

Leveled players with at least 22 invention can learn how to improve pickaxes. This lets the player make augmented crystal pickaxes, or enhanced dragon pickaxes using the augmentations of crystal pickaxes and dragon pickaxes. Pickaxes stored on the player's tool belt can be improved by chatting with Doc in The Invention Guild. In the same Invention stage, players can learn to create tool gizmos. The tool gizmo is added to an enhanced pickaxe, giving it advantages. The following benefits could help players in training mining:

To take advantage of an augmented tool's benefits, the user must have charged in the charge packs of their. The use of an enhanced crystal pickaxe will cost at most 0.31 divine costs from the charge pack every second. The the use of an enhanced dragon pickaxe costs at most 0.21 Divine charges for each second. This can be reduced through research into charge drain enhancements or by adding the effective reward to your item.

The Wise perk is also added to an offhand weapon or shield. It will offer bonus experiences regardless, which allows players to get two benefits with their pickaxes in conjunction with their skill-enhancing outfit.

 Other equipment of use

 Varrock armour

There are different levels of Varrock armor are awarded upon successful completion of the easy intermediate, hard, and elite sets in Varrock tasks. Varrock armour is a slot item. While mining with the armour-equipped players, they have around a 10% chance of mining two different ores at once getting Mining experience for both of them. Anyone who has completed the quest Dimension of Disaster can complete the easy series of New Varrock tasks to further increase the Varrock armour's chance of mining two ores once. The higher levels of the armour grant this effect at rocks which are more prone to the Mining level prerequisite to mining. Armour's effects are effective in mining granite, concentrated coal or gold rock.

 Golden mining suit

Wearing pieces of the golden mining suit grants an increase in amount of base experience which is earned while mining. The set includes five items: the set comprising the helmet, top pants, gloves, and boots. The items in the set can be found while exploring the Lava Flow Mine. Players have a 1 in 846 chance to disturb the nymph in liquid gold who is spoken to in order to gain parts of the golden mining suit. One piece of the suit can be obtained per encounter, and the pieces can be obtained in the following order: gloves, boots pants, top. It could take 3-4 hours to discover a gold liquid nymph. If all of the pieces in the set are worn, an additional bonus effect is given. If a person has Varrock armour, as well as all of the pieces of the golden mining suit, the players will receive the effects of the Varrock armour, while wearing the complete gold mining suit.

 Starfury costumes

Starfury outfits can be made by making starfire outfits by combining them with diamonds from the starborn, which are available at Treasure Hunter between 9th and 14th September 2015. Wearing starfury outfit pieces players deplete Seren gemstones at a slow rate as they mine them. In addition, they get the advantages of matching pieces of the golden mining suit, in the event that they are owned by.

 Golem outfits

Parts of golem outfits can be won as a prize through Treasure Hunter. They are also made from gemstone golem fragments which are obtained by mining at minimum 70 levels of Mining. The fragments are able to be assembled to form outfit parts at levels 80 Mining and 20 Invention.

The sapphire golem costume as well as the emerald golem outfit ruby golem outfit comprise of head slot, body slot, leg slot hand slot and feet slot items. When wearing a complete version of any of these three outfits, the wearer will receive these bonuses:

Chance of successfully mining a resource is up by 5%.

If a player owns a complete golden mining suit, they will receive its added 6% base experience effect when wearing a golem suit.

If a person owns Varrock armour, they will have the chance to receive two ores simultaneously while wearing golem outfit.

The players who took home all the pieces of the sapphire golem outfit as well as the emerald Golem outfit and ruby golem outfit could combine these pieces into a magical golem costume. The outfit offers more benefits than those offered by the other outfits for golems. Alongside the benefits listed in the previous paragraph, wearers receive the following bonuses from wearing a magic golem outfit:

Chance of success in mining resources is increased by 7percent (as against 5percent).

Living rock creatures living in the Living Rock Caverns will not play rough with players.

 Mining cape

The cape for mining can be purchased by players who have achieved level 99 Mining. When equipped, the cape provides an invisible +2 Mining level boost. If you own a max cape, completionist cape, or trimmed completionist cape can put the mining cape on one of these capes in order to grant it the mining cape's perk.

 Summoning familiars

There are four Summoning familiars that can be summoned, which boost a player's Mining level while they are summoned. This doesn't let a player gain access to higher-level content however it allows them to mine at a slightly faster rate.

 Urns

Urns can be used for mining knowledge while training. If they are kept inside the game's inventory urns are filled by the player as he mines ore. Only the base experience gain counts towards filling the urn. Additional experience granted from the use of Crystallise and/or Light Form currently counts towards filling a player's mining urn. Urns with full capacity can be transferred away to earn additional experience, equivalent to 20 percent of the mining experience gained from filling up the urn. Only one urn is full at any given time and players can have up to a total of 10 , full-filled urns. If a player holds 10 full mining urns they must teleport at a minimum of 1 away before filling more urns. Urns are only tradeable in their (nr) non-runed form. To use an urn mining, the user must include an earth rune in it. This renders the urn not tradeable.

A player who has at least level 24 Invention , and are finished with Nomad's Elegy can discover how to create an urn enhancer. In the inventory of the player the urn enhancer provides 25% more experience in exchange for transporting an entire urn. This feature costs 20 credits taken from the pack that the player has purchased. If the player buys divine charges from the Grand Exchange, it would cost 804.55 to make use of the urn enhancer to teleport an Urn. A player mining granite using Light form and crystallize using the level 99 Mining will gain approximately 169,500 of base experience per hour. If you use decorated mining urns, the player will gain 33900 additional hours of experience, plus an additional 8,475 experiences with an urn enhancer. This will cost approximately 43,638.79 an hour in divine fees.

 Mining accumulators

Mining accumulators can be made by players with at least 50 levels of Invention. They can be purchased for 25 dwarven currencies if the player has chosen a technology tree. They are also available for purchase at the Grand Exchange for 29,819 each. When placed in the inventory of the player, a Mining accumulator gains charges each time players fail to mine. The accumulator can then be examined to gain experience. A total of 2,500 Mining experiences can be gained by studying an accumulator for Mining that is fully charged.

 Scimshaw that crushes rocks

The rock-crushing scrimshaws are activated to give players a chance of crushing an ore as it is mined, granting additional Mining experience. These scrimshaws can be turned on and deactivated at any time provided that a 10-second cooling period has been reached. The inferior rock-crushing scrimshaw gives an increase of 15% of crushing an ore to gain more experience and require level 70 mining for use. The lower scrimshaw can be traded for 935,516, and runs for three hours. The superior rock-crushing scrimshaw gives a 20% chance of crushing ore to gain experience. It also requires level 80 Mining to use. The superior scrimshaw lasts for 4 hours , but it's not tradeable. The players who have reached the level 85 Fletching are able to make superior rock-crushing scrimshaws after collecting four pieces of the rock-crushing scroll within the minigame port owned by the player. The more superior scrimshaw is then able to be crafted from 10 ancient bones.

The additional experience gained from the crushing process of a scrimshaw can be equated to a fraction of the experience typically gained by mining an ore. This is contingent upon the kind of ore that is crushed. Superior and inferior scrimshaws give the same amount of additional experience. The rock-crushing scrimshaws don't affect mines in Seren stones, however, they can alter mining in the concentrated rocks. Additional experience gained through coal or gold that is crushed by a scrimshaw will be identical regardless of whether it obtained via a concentration or normal ore rock. If the scrimshaw crushing rocks crushes an ore simultaneously since the player is able to obtain two ore at once due to the concentrated rocks' Double Ore Effect, the scrimshaw can grant extra experience , but only for one ore. In the process of mining concentrated gold rocks players can expect to gain around 2,150-2,800 additional hours of experience using a less effective rock-crushing scrimshaw, and around 2,850-3,700 additional experience an hour with a more powerful scrimshaw, dependent on the mining level.

 Quarrymaster auras

Quarrymaster auras increase a player's likelihood of mining ore and rocks by a certain percentage when they are active. The effects of these auras last for one hour once they are activated. Players can use 5 or 10 vis wax to prolong the duration of the quarrymaster aura's activation by 50% or 100 percent (costing 77,165 or 154,330). This effect is activated prior to the aura being activated. Once a quarrymaster aura is activated, been used , the user has to wait for 3 hours before returning to it. Quarrymaster auras can also be purchased through Membership loyalty points. The lower tiers of the aura need to be purchased before the higher-tier aura is purchased. Quarrymaster auras have an effect on the mining process in Seren stones.

Perfect juju mining potions as well as juju mining potions

When the perfect juju mining potion's effects kick in, the player has a 10% chance of finding an enhanced stone spirit each time they mine an ore. While the stone spirit is active, it will automatically melt any ore mined by the player and place them in bars in the bank account of the player and award Smithing the same experience you would get from the player smelting ore with furnace. The players will also earn 10% additional mining experience for every ore they mine when there is a stone spirit. Stone spirits last for 30 seconds after first appearing. Each serving of the perfect Juju Mining Potion lasts 1 hour. The potion can be purchased from the Grand Exchange or created by adding harmony Moss (costing $460) to an juju-mining potion (3) (costing 24.039) with the level of 80 Herblore.

The players could also utilize juju mining potions as an alternative to the perfect juju mining potions. Just like the best juju mining potions, regular Juju mining potions offer an opportunity of locating a stone spirit that grants 10% additional Mining experience and bank all the ores that players mine for 30 seconds. However, stone spirits spawned through the effects of a regular jujumin mining potion are not able to melt the any ores mined by the user. Each dose of the Juju mining poison lasts 5 minutes, as opposed to one hour for each dose of a perfect Juju mining potion.

Skillchompas, or a variety of other items, can be utilized in lieu of a pickaxe when mining, offering a speed comparable to the kind of pickaxe they are equivalent to. When equipped or held in the inventory of the player, the skillchompas are consumed every time a player's character tries to mine, even if the mining attempt fails in gaining an ore. If a player successfully gains experience while mining with the skillchompa, they will receive the additional 10 percent of the usual base amount of. Every time a mining endeavor is unsuccessful a player gains 5% more experience they would have earned if the mining attempt had been successful. In the case of mining gold ore players gain 65 experience when they successfully mine gold ore if they're not employing skillchompas. Using skillchompas provides 71.5 experience when mining successfully gold ore and 3.25 experience every time a player fails.

At level 99, mining using crimson skillchompas at Seren stones yields an average of 176,000 experience per hour even without other experience boosting items (compared to 125,000 experiences per hour with a crystal pickaxe). In an hour of mining with this method, about 2160 crimson skillschompas are utilized for 2,887,920.

 Crystallise and Light Form

Access to Seren prayers and spells which are available in the old magicks as well as ancient curses spell and prayer books, is granted after finishing The Light Within quest. Level 75 Mining is necessary to complete the quest Plague's End, which is one of the requirements needed to complete The Light Within. Crystallise requires the level 88% Magic as well as 6 water and 6 fire chaos and 6 soul runes for casting. Crystallise can be cast onto an ore stone to boost the mining experience gained from it by 50%, while hindering the player from receiving all resources that the ore rock can provide. This effect lasts for 30 seconds following the time Crystallise was cast. After that, it is impossible to cast Crystallise again until the effect wears off. If you have a crystallised rock is being mined by the only person that cast Crystallise on it, then it will not be depleted until Crystallise's effect wears off. If a different player extracts minerals from the crystallised rock, it will be depleted in the normal way but the Crystallise spell's effect and duration will be stopped until the rock is replenished. If you have at least the level of 80 Prayer players can use Light Form. Light Form prayer, which can enhance the effects of Seren aligned spells while activated. It will also increase the extra Mining experience obtained from a crystallised rock up to 87.5%. Players should consume around 53 doses prayer potion in an hour when they are at level 99 Prayer in order to maintain the prayer points required to keep the Light Form activated. Utilizing prayer-renewing potions can assist in regaining some prayer points. When learning Mining with Crystallise, players can perform the spell as many as 120 times in an hour, costing 1210,320 runes. The cost of this spell can be decreased by using staves in order to provide some of the required runes. Crystallise cannot be cast upon concentrated sandstone, Seren stones or even alaea crablets.

 Scimshaw made of rock crushing

Scramshaws that crush rocks can be activated to give the player the chance to crush an ore while the mined material is extracted, giving additional mining experience. The scrimshaws that crush rock can be activated or deactivated at the click of a button, provided that a 10-second cooldown has been completed. The inferior rock-crushing scrimshaw gives the chance of crushing ore to gain more experience and requires Level 70 Mining to utilize. The inferior scrimshaw is tradeable, costing 935,516, and lasts for three hours. The higher-quality rock-crushing variant gives 20% of crushing an ore in order to gain experience. It is required to be the level 80 Mining skill to be used. The better scrimshaw is available for 4 hours , however it is not exchangeable. For players with a level 85 Fletching can gain the ability to create superior rock-crushing scrimshaws by gathering the 4 pieces of the rock-crushing scroll in the Player-owned port minigame. The more superior scrimshaw is then able to be made from 10 old bones.

The additional knowledge gained from the crushing of an ore by scrimshaw is equivalent to a portion of the experience that is normally gained upon mining an ore. It is contingent upon the kind of ore being crushed. Superior scrimshaws and inferior ones award exactly the same experience. Scrimshaws that crush rock do not impact mining at Seren stones, however they do impact mining at the concentrated rocks. The additional experience gained from coal or gold ore being crushed by a scrimshaw will be identical regardless of whether ore was obtained via a concentration or regular ore rock. If the rock-crushing scrimshaw crushes an ore at the same time as the player obtains two ores at once through the concentrated rocks' Double Ore Effect, then the scrimshaw grants additional experience for only one ore. While mining concentrated gold rocks players will receive between 2,150 and 2,800 additional experience an hour using an inferior scrimshaw for crushing rock and about 2,850-3700 extra experience an hour using a superior scrimshaw, based on the mining level.
