RuneScape's PvP element, called the Duel Arena, will also be subject to more strict rules. Jagex states that the feature "has been a trigger for the shady behaviour" and that 38 per cent of all bans for RWT activity up OSRS Gold until now originate from this aspect that the player plays. It claims that the number of bans already amount to "thousands of bans per month".
As a result, the developer seems to be going with the nuclear decision, and says "we're considering in the future to remove through the Duel Arena out of RuneScape completely." In the meantime the game will take "some immediate measures" to tidy up PvP "until our development teams can bring a major update that fully takes over the Duel Arena next year."
The rules will have a limit in the number of GP or gold points the players can stake on matches played in the Duel Arena. Players will be able to bet "no less than 50m GP per duel". Additional measures aren't described as of yet.
Jagex claims that "a brand new experience that'll make up part of the Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena by the time 2022 begins But no other details have been announced yet.
While the impact of these modifications remains to be determined it is clear that they are one of the most effective measures any studio has ever taken in order to protect against external misuse of its systems for profit. If successful, similar strategies could be implemented in the MMO space in the coming years.
Jagex recently announced after 18 years of being the battleground for PvP, Duel Arena will be leaving RuneScape and a brand new area has been added. RuneScape is scheduled to release Het's Oasis, with Cheap RuneScape Gold an all-new landscape, new skilling methods as well as two brand new mini-quests for players to try.
