Introduction

In the furniture sector, HATIL is known as the top furniture manufacturer in Bangladesh. HATIL has become a well-known brand both at home and internationally due to its carefully selected raw materials, environmentally sustainable business practices, and customer-centric strategy.

Top furniture manufacturer in Bangladesh

Hatil is one of Bangladesh's most well-known furniture manufacturers. The firm, which was founded over three decades ago, now has two state-of-the-art facilities and 70 retail locations.

Hatil began as a door maker and seller and has now expanded to include an interior design division as well as the fabrication of various types of furniture for clients' homes. Hatil has its own ecommerce website and mobile app in addition to its retail locations.

Hatil also created Bangladesh's first virtual showroom. This top Furniture manufacturer in Bangladesh is exported to over 18 nations throughout the world, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, and the United States, in addition to the home market.

Hatil has had significant success in its commercial operations, exporting more than $1.5 million dollars and selling 3 billion BDT worth of furniture to the local market each year. More than 3,000 people work at the firm right now.

The Rising Story of The Top Furniture Manufacturer

Hatil's ascension began in 2001, when two guys from Uttara approached Selim H. Rahman and offered to take over Hatil's business. The business then introduced the country's first lacquer finish in 2002. A machine-applied lacquer finish is a form of varnish. As a consequence of the company's usage of this lovely lacquer varnish, the company's furniture became even more popular among customers, and demand continued to rise.

As a result, Mr. Selim rented another plant in Old Dhaka's Shyampur Industrial City in 2003. Selim H. Rahman acquired a number of other sheds in and around Farashganj in order to establish a factory there.

Hatil has always placed a premium on both quality and design. In 2004, Hatil held a design competition in which students from several engineering schools submitted furniture concepts. Hatil Furniture held a similar competition in 2006.

In 2010, Hatil, who was experiencing a designer shortage, acquired three experienced British designers. Hatil's crew also collaborated with them for six months to prepare a variety of innovative furniture designs. At the "Dhaka International Trade Fair," the designs were on show.

Hatil began making new furniture based on these ideas after receiving positive feedback from consumers. Hatil's popularity grew as a consequence of its attractive appearance and high quality assurance. The company's revenues were more than 830 million BDT at the conclusion of the 2011-12 fiscal year.
Hatil opened a second location in Canada in 2014.

For the first time in Bangladesh, the firm created its own e-commerce site as well as a virtual store in 2016. Customers are unable to inspect every piece of furniture in Hatil's catalog due to showroom space constraints. The company's  Virtual Store is a far-reaching concept that allows customers to examine Hatil's items from anywhere on the Internet or using virtual reality headsets at the store, providing them with the ideal viewpoint on proportions and a life-like viewing experience.

A smartphone app has also been developed by the firm. Shoppers may pick and order Hatil furniture in a virtual store with a 360-degree preview mode using the app. In 2016, Hatil's net revenues surpassed 2.4 billion dollars.
Hatil shipped furniture worth around 1.5 million dollars to India, Nepal, Canada, and the United States. The company is still expanding.

Hatil’s Potential as a Global Brand

The Hatil business had a fall in growth in 2020 as a result of the Corona outbreak, despite the fact that the company's net sales for the year were more than 2.23 billion BDT. In that same year, the firm was able to export 1.2 million dollars worth of goods.
This demonstrates Hatil's worldwide brand potential.  In reality, in 2020-21, the firm was able to produce a sales income of roughly 400 Crore BDT. Hatil now operates 70 stores in Bangladesh, 18 locations in India, two stores in Nepal, and one store in Bhutan.

Hatil also distributes furniture in over 18 countries worldwide, including the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Thailand.
Hatil Factories produce around 50 couch sets per day, 150 swivel and visiting chairs, and 15 metal almirahs and file cabinets each day. They have a production capacity of 600 items in their Lacquer section and 700 products in their Wood & Panel Section per day.
