Once a furniture warehouse, Merino Mills has been redefined by developers into a hub of activity that boasts restaurants, local artisans, breweries, office space, and more. This hotspot welcomes more than 100 thousand visitors per month and offers year-round farmer’s markets and live music every week. 

Barcelona Burger Bar and Brew Garden: It isn’t every burger joint that can claim its burgers were voted “best cheeseburger in North Carolina.” Barcelona Burger has been named a favorite in the state numerous times since 2017. This award-winning restaurant also serves up vegetarian burgers, chicken, and a large selection of craft beers on tap.

Alino Pizzeria: Another award winner on our list is Alino Pizzeria. This authentic pizza parlor offers up delicious Italian wood-fired pizzas made from scratch using San Marzano tomatoes, Caputo Italian flour, extra virgin olive oil, and buffalo mozzarella that arrives weekly from Italy. While you’re there, you can also indulge in imported wines, beers, and Italian desserts.

Hoptown Brewing Company: Hoptown is one of Mooresville’s newest and best-known watering holes. Here you will find many different and delicious craft beers, fun weekly events, and rotating food trucks that give patrons many opportunities to try a variety of different foods while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the brewery. 

Be sure to stop in for music trivia on Thursday evenings – one of our favorites. Even better, Hoptown Brewing will support four local charities each year with the proceeds from certain craft beer sales or events. Hoptown is committed to donating their spent grain to local farmers and to be stewards to the environment while creating delicious brews for its customers.

Ghostface Brewing: This Mooresville favorite offers its patrons up to 20 unique beers, mead, and ciders. Ghostface rotates its beer selection regularly while maintaining a core selection that is always available, including gluten free beers for customers with Celiac Disease. 

If you’re feeling hungry, Ghostface serves authentic, New York Style pizza, including a craft pizza special every month. 

​Ghostface Brewing Scratch Kitchen: Ghostface also owns a gastropub by the name of Ghostface Scratch Kitchen also features a gastropub menu with everything made fresh each day using ingredients from local farmers. The Scratch Kitchen also offers patrons hand-crafted cocktails and 18 taps of Ghostface Brewing beer. Offerings include burgers, salads, flatbreads, paninis, and sandwiches all under $15.

Mooresville Ice Cream: Looking for a sweet treat while doing some shopping downtown? Look no further than Mooresville Ice Cream. Located in an historic building, this former general store has been transformed into an elegant and refined local eatery in the heart of Mooresville, NC. Treat yourself to indulgent large portions of superb steaks and seafood in a unique atmosphere.
