The wise old men meet eyes

The first is a strong man with anger issues and a club, the second is a wise elder of the  Dark And Darker Gold tribe and the third is a skilled hunter and marksman. Together they ate around a campfire after a successful day of hunting in the wilds. They counted the shiny rocks they found deep in the cave and contemplated trading them at the nearby village the next day.

As their campfire dies out and they close their tired eyes, they are startled awake by a noise

Through a portal in time and space steps out a wise old man with techno goggles, a huge hulk of geneticly modified muscle and a marksman with the biggest plasma sniper rifle money can buy

The wise old men meet eyes and it is the same for their counterparts, beholding eachother with a wordless respect

Though they are from different times and  cheap Darker Gold cultures, they recognize the humanity in each other, the variance and traits of humanity, the inexplicable tropes of existence perpetuated over time.
